If you’re on the hunt for grandma-chic but don’t have the time to check the charity shops, Ruggable and Anthropologie have something for you. The British rug specialists have teamed up with the boho lifestyle retailer for a new collection.

Maria O’Brien, Vice President of Design at Ruggable says: “We are proud to bring Ruggable to Anthropologie: a brand that reflects our belief in thoughtful, design-driven living. Our in-house design team created this collection specifically for Anthropologie, blending their signature aesthetic with Ruggable’s expertise in pattern, texture, and washable innovation.”

The 10-piece collection is nostalgic, with cross-stitch style motifs on the rugs. Available to shop online now, it promotes a lived-in, imperfect feel with the functionality of Ruggable’s other ranges.

The collection was created around a statement: a home doesn’t need to be perfect to be beautiful. This collection is a pastiche of spaces that are galleries in their own right. They layer and curate pieces, telling a story while keeping a relaxed atmosphere where interaction is not a crime.

Drawing inspiration from Anthropologie’s archives, the designs feature Scandinavian folk motifs, heritage florals, and modern painterly palettes. The range features Ruggable’s latest innovation, the All-In-One. This is a one-piece washable rug system with modern living (and maintenance budgets) in mind.

“Our partnership with Ruggable has been effortless thanks to our shared belief that home is where life unfolds,” Katherine Finder, Chief Merchandising Officer at Anthropologie Home, says. “Together, we created a collection that seamlessly combines Anthropologie’s distinct design sensibility with Ruggable’s unparalleled functionality. Each rug is designed to support the way our customers truly live, encouraging homes that feel effortlessly layered, warmly lived-in, and authentically their own.”

Available in sizes ranging from 60cm x 90cm to 275cm x 365cm, the range includes seven rugs and three doormats. With prices starting at £119, the Ruggable x Anthropologie Home collection is available now at Ruggable.co.uk and Anthropologie.com.

This is not the first archival collaboration that Ruggable have done: seeing iconic prints translated into functional pieces for the home is telling for where design is headed: homes are becoming eclectic mixes of old and new after a long time of swinging either way.

A recent subculture to emerge from old and new is Neo Deco, a modern take on Art Deco style. The layering of rugs is a trend that explains why this collection is so relevant. As more consumers treat fashion and interiors as one, practices like layering seep into the practice of home design.

It’s also not their first time dabbling in fashion. While Anthropologie’s homeware is all the rage, their clothes have similar if not more traction. Bohemian, 70s revival styles are where they dominate and this collection, along with Ruggable’s collaboration with RIXO, signal their desire to make nostalgic, 70’s revival products. Their retail expansion doesn’t end with collaborations; launching with John Lewis last year was and is a sign that this is only the beginning for Ruggable’s revivalist releases and for modern nostalgic decor.

Ruggable x Anthropologie Green & Pink Welcome Trellis Doormat (£169.00)

The Welcome Trellis Doormat has a feminine flair for those who want to follow the trend but stay true to their tastes. If you’re a hopeless romantic (or just watch Bridgerton), trelliage is a nice way to transport your home back a few centuries without the historical drama.

Ruggable x Anthropologie Ella 90 x 150 cm Slate Blue Rug (£239.00)

The Ella Rug in Slate Blue is the epitome of grandma-chic. Cross stitch amongst other crafts add that “made with love” feel that every home so desperately needs. The pops of green, pink, ochre yellow and wine red make it fitting for most spaces; I’d encourage those trying out the rug-layering trend to consider this piece.

Ruggable x Anthropologie Olivia 75 x 305 cm Cream Runner Rug (£269.00)

The lovechild of the above products would have to be the Olivia Rug in Cream. I’d say this would do well in a stone backed kitchen for a cottagecore style.
