If you’re crazy for 70s revival, British luxury lampshade brand Tinker & Tallulah have released a limited-edition collection inspired by the eccentric decade. The Deco Glamour Edit is a collection that draws inspiration from the iconic 60s and 70s fashion brand Biba.

This collection coincides with the resurgence of Art Deco via Neo Deco: a hybrid between the former and contemporary styling. As design broke out of the early 20th century mould, Biba honoured it with a touch of la bohème. A 70s reimagining of the era, Biba is arguably one of the pioneers of Neo Deco.

Available to shop online, the collection signals the shift from modern minimalism to the decadence of design in generations past.

The five-piece collection was created as part of the immersive exhibition The Biba Story: 1964–1975 at Dovecot Studios in Edinburgh. It follows Biba from its mail-order beginnings to becoming a 60s and 70s fashion and lifestyle giant. This exhibition captures the impact of one of Britain’s most influential fashion and lifestyle brands.

The designs are named after women that defined the brand and the era. They include co-founder of Biba Barbara Hulanicki, Bianca Jagger, Brigitte Bardot, Marianne Faithfull and Mary Quant.

“Collaborating with the Dovecot Studios team was a real joy,” Racheal Millband, co-founder of Tinker & Tallulah, says. “The Deco Glamour Edit is an invitation to embrace a little drama at home—rich colour, beautiful texture, and pieces that make you smile every time you switch the light on. We loved leaning into the expressive glamour of the era, and we’re thrilled to finally share the collection with our customers.”

Handmade to order, you can expect the rich colourways that characterised Biba, funky prints and interesting textures that put it a cut above the rest, finished off with Tinker & Tallulah’s signature tassels. Suited to floor lamps, table lamps and ceiling pendants, the pieces come in small (35cm) and large (45cm).

It’s rare that I would suggest anyone buy a £220 lamp. However, if you are a collector of limited-edition items or feel that 70s revival resonates with you beyond the trends, the Barbara Fringed Lampshade is an “investment”. I use this term not because I am convinced of resale value or some social benefits to owning it. I use this term because of the joy it sparks; a bold, animal print lampshade that dares to be different.

This lampshade is a snapshot of history. Barbara Hulanicki co-founded Biba in 1964, shifting the brand from 60s youth culture to its Neo Deco prime, with stars like David Bowie and Marianne Faithfull as customers. Biba was building a world that brought very different generations together. Witnessing the same phenomenon in 2026, I hope that the design emerging from our time will be just as legendary.
