Desenio has released new art and it’s not the colourways or themes that have caught our attention but the shapes. Straying away from their traditional rectangular offerings, the Stockholm atelier has created a collection of 1:1 canvases and prints.
The offerings include abstracts, landscapes, figurative and photography. Available to shop online now, the prints promise to bring a touch of sophistication to any space.
About Desenio’s Square Canvases

Available in two new sizes, 70 x 70 cm and 135 x 135 cm, the collection is a great alternative to rectangular art that sometimes feels awkward in certain spaces or leaves too much dead space. The 135 x 135cm option is particularly standout, offering a custom, high-end feel at high street prices.
They recommend their square canvases for styling rooms with high ceilings or for some variation in a gallery wall. They’d also recommend it as a statement piece above a fireplace; an oh-so-Scandi styling choice. For the 135 x 135 cm option, they recommend hanging it at eye level or lower for full visual impact.
If you opt for one of the canvases, they are made to order and the canvas is wrapped around a solid pine frame, the image continuing round the edges for a clean finish.
Top Picks For A Tight Budget

A personal favourite from the works is the Eileen canvas. The neutrals with that bold pop of red are gorgeous, especially in the context of the design scene that is currently heralding deep reds.

If you’re a lover of abstract art, the Tranquil Teal canvas is stunning. It also has a sister canvas. We love seeing art be carried across two canvases; it’s a conversation not only between the two pieces but the room.
Going into Q1 2026, powder blue has been a popular colour for that vintage French hotel feel. These pieces would help to balance old world charm and add some quiet texture to the room.
