Jasmine Tookes did the unheard of in the Victoria’s Secret world: she opened the show nine months pregnant. Wearing a large gold wire and pearl clam shell, her look was a reference to Sandro Botticelli’s Birth of Venus.
Having visited the Uffizi to see the original, I can confidently say that the VS team nailed the reference. The nude underwear and glow made her look otherworldly and literally brought new life to the show.
Beyond that, they’ve been able to prove the haters wrong on one front: the Victoria’s Secret Show is not a shallow enterprise. It draws from art and culture and a long, complex history of beauty to create something we admire.
From that, we’ve been inspired to create a shopping guide around the iconic look. Arranged into art, decor, dinnerware, lighting and seating, it’s the perfect curation of interiors for an ethereal space.
