Mariah Carey may be thawing as we speak. John Lewis has officially opened its online Christmas shop, revealing some decor that speaks to the classic, the contemporary and all in between.
“The countdown is officially on!” Lisa Cherry, Head of Christmas at John Lewis, says. “We couldn’t be more excited to launch our Online Christmas Shop, and bring the festive magic directly to our customers. To meet customer demand, we have invested in our biggest-ever buy of Christmas decorations, gifts and experiences.”
About The Christmas Collection

The collection boasts of four themes: Ancient Wonders, texture-forward releases with muted colour palette, the bright and bold Enchanting Tales decor, Heirloom Splendour (as the name suggests, perfect for a traditional home) and Worldly Treasures, a perfect choice for the colourful, eclectic home.
“Expect nostalgic nods, intricate beadwork, mouth-blown glass baubles and trend-led scalloped bows designed to elevate doorscaping,” Florence Bretherton, Partner & Senior Communications Officer for Brand & Lifestyle, says.
The collection couldn’t come at a better time. Representatives for John Lewis say that searches for ‘Christmas Decorations’ on their site have increased by 128% in August and searches for ‘Christmas Wreath’ are up by 367% compared to the same time last year.
Christmas Collaborations

John Lewis will be teaming up with various brands like Stranger Things and Quality Street to supply your gift needs, but the most exciting collaboration is with MADE51, a UN-backed initiative to bring refugee craftsmanship to the world. I love this rising sun tree decoration, which would look beautiful in a coastal home at Christmas time.
Their collaboration with Sarah Miller is also worth mentioning. The Woodland Tales collection consists of snowglobe-style baubles, stocking and felt animals that add a whimsical touch to the home. This collection is perfect for those who love bold prints.
Top Picks for a Tight Budget

Although the brand’s advert hasn’t dropped yet, it’s sure to tug on heartstrings. Perhaps you could wipe your tears with their red cotton ticking stripe napkins? On a serious note, this set of four is lovely for Christmas tablescaping without making too literal a reference.

As an ornithophile who happens to live in Central London, it’s hard to see birds often. We love this felt robin for its cute appeal and way of bringing nature to your festive decor.

Call me unconventional, but I actually prefer an unlit tree as it allows me to draw attention to the decor and ornaments but also use LED candles. This 4ft artificial tree from John Lewis looks very natural and has a lovely pot instead of the metal legs of Christmas’ past, saving you money on tree skirts.
